Driver dies after car hits tree
Accident specialists are appealing for witnesses to a fatal car crash near Newton Aycliffe.

- Woodham – Youths in the trees near Woodham Burn drinking alcohol and causing a nuisance
- Shafto St Mary – Youths congregating in Town Park and Dalton Way on a Friday and Saturday night drinking alcohol.
- Neville and Simpasture Ward – Groups of youths congregating to the rear of the Oak Tree Public House drinking alcohol, also groups of 30/40 youths congregating behind Talents and riding motorcycles
- West – Gangs of youths and graffiti in Hawes Place and Skipton Close
- Greenfield Middridge – Youths drinking and riding motorcycles in and around the Avon Court area
Your Neighbourhood Inspector
My name is Andrew Neill and I am the neighbourhood inspector for Newton Aycliffe, Shildon and Sedgefield. I am based at Newton Aycliffe Police Station. I have worked for Durham Constabulary for over 20 years in a variety of roles and have served the community in my current role for the last five years. In addition to having charge of the local neighbourhood policing teams I also co-ordinate the work of the CID and response officers working in our area to deliver neighbourhood policing in line with identified and agreed community needs.
