Neighbourhood Profile
Chester-le-street policing area is coterminous with the Chester-le-Street District Council area, lying to the North of County Durham bordering Tyne and Wear to the North East and the County Durham Districts of Derwentside and City of Durham to the West and South respectively.
The 24 hour police presence in the area is at the Chester-le-street Police Station in the heart of the town with smaller stations in Pelton and Sacriston which are not staffed on a 24 hour basis.
The A1 motorway travels through the Eastern side of the area providing links with Tyneside to the North and Durham City/Teeside to the South. Wearside and the coast are only a few miles to the East. The Riverside cricket ground is also a major attraction for sports and other events.

My name is Paul Anderson and I am the neighbourhood inspector for the Chester-le-street area. My overarching aim is to work together with the community and partner organisations to make Chester-le-Street a safer, more secure and confident community. I am based out of the main police station at Chester-le-street where I manage the day-to-day policing function in our neighbourhood.
