Everybody has a role to play in maintaining law and order and preventing crime in the UK. By working in partnership with Durham Constabulary, your business can help protect our communities against crime and the fear of crime.
Business Support
Police forces throughout the UK are now able to accept 1% of their annual budget in sponsorship and other business ventures. This can include both a one-off sponsorship arrangement, to long-term business support. Funding and sponsorship have the potential to deliver innovative and creative solutions to greatly enhance the quality of service we provide by financing projects that we could not otherwise have undertaken. However, we all know that costs of crime are not purely financial. Jointly funded partnerships mean additional resources to fund services and equipment to help us in our daily tasks.
Because of the nature of our work, we cannot enter into negotiations with inappropriate businesses or organisations. Neither can we be seen to endorse or recommend any individual company's products or services.
A wealth of opportunity
Victims of crime also suffer fear, injury and illness as well as associated stress - affecting employees, their families and customers. There are many opportunities available, including non-financial support. By involving your organisation you are helping the police to combat crime as well as caring for the welfare of your staff and customers and the community in which they live and work.
We are always looking for new ways of fighting crime and reducing people's fear of crime.

Police sponsorship and partnership agreements could raise your company's profile. Being seen to help your local community through involvement with a police initiative creates awareness at many levels.
The media always takes a keen interest in initiatives undertaken by the police. However, we are not asking you to pay twice for policing since commercial partnerships are not our main activity.
